GM Financial Receives Prestigious Military Employer Award

GM Financial received a prestigious award from the U.S. Department of Defense for its efforts in supporting employees who serve in the reserves and the National Guard.
During a ceremony held at GM Financial’s headquarters, the Defense Department’s Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) organization awarded GM Financial with the Above and Beyond award. GM Financial received this award for building an environment that goes beyond the standards set in place for employers of members in the reserve or National Guard.
“This award is significant because it strongly reflects our values as an employer, demonstrates the integrity and commitment of our leaders to supporting our employees who serve and reminds us of the sacrifices those employees make to protect our freedom,” said Dan Berce, President and CEO of GM Financial.
“It’s critically important that employees don’t have to choose between a civilian career and serving their country. We know they are capable of both, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting their needs,” Dan said.
In addition to the award, Dan signed a Statement of Support on behalf of the company that furthers the company’s commitment to this group of employees by providing them with the tools they need to be supported while fulfilling their service.
GM Financial provides several resources to employees serving in the reserves or the guard. Employees can also join the Salute Employee Resource Group, which is dedicated to providing support, mentoring and community to active-duty and veteran employees. Additionally, GM Financial provides resources to managers so they can continue operations while their employees serve.
