Community Involvement
GM Financial's culture is based on strengthening the communities where we live and work. Each
year, we select several philanthropic organizations as our "Signature Events." We actively
support these organizations through many company-wide initiatives.
GM Financial's three Signature Events are:
- March of Dimes
- Salvation Army
- United Way
GM Financial's three Canadian Signature Events are:
- Salvation Army
- United Way
- Cystic Fibrosis Canada
The organizations were chosen based on team member interest, number of people and communities
served, and availability of volunteer opportunities for GM Financial team members.
In addition to the Signature Events, GM Financial also supports dozens of other nonprofit
organizations throughout the United States and Canada.
Employee Participation
GM Financial encourages all team members to participate in community investment projects. All
full-time team members receive eight hours of paid time off to volunteer each quarter, and part-time
team members are offered four hours each quarter to volunteer. Further, we offer a Dollars for Doers
program which allows GM Financial to donate $5 for every hour, up to 50 hours per year, that team
members spend volunteering outside of work hours. Team members can select two agencies per year to
benefit from the Dollars for Doers program. GM Financial also sponsors employees for two
walk/run/cycle events per year.
